7 reasons to watch Live Earth Saturday

Live Earth

Live Earth is a series of concerts around all over the world, and its original organizers are Steve Well and Al Gore (!). The picture on the right is from Singapore, and more are coming from Australia, USA, Brazil, Canada (eight cities on seven continents in total) to NoComment News!

Do you live in the city where Live Earth is on today? Experts provide some reasons to watch it:

1. Madonna. She went all out for Live 8. Here, she might debut material from her Justin Timberlake-produced CD.

2. The Police. If you couldn't afford the hyper-slashed scalper prices for Tuesday's Xcel Center show, this one's free.

3. Also reunited: Smashing Pumpkins (sort of), Genesis, Crowded House and Spinal Tap, plus Metallica and Dave Matthews come off breaks.

4. They remembered the hip-hop: Akon, Live 8 show-stealer Kanye West, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Beastie Boys and Black Eyed Peas.

5. It's truly a world affair: International artists include Angélique Kidjo, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Evonne Hsu, Baaba Maal and Ai Otsuka.

6. No Bono? Maybe.

7. Will he or ... ah, who cares?: If Gore doesn't finally announce, Flea or Snoop should.
